Rosie Peters & JG Everest Bring Music & Poetry to Room 203

Leave it to these two creatives to inspire and connect us all more deeply to our own human experience!

Poet and storyteller Rosetta "Rosie" Peters and musician JG Everest returned to Grand Rapids on February 25th for a special performance of their live poetry + music storytelling collaboration, featuring brand-new material, as well as pieces from their acclaimed 2022 chapbook album, The Hummingbirds Dance. The combination of Rosie’s heartfelt and powerful poetry and JG's transcendent musical accompaniment made for a transportive evening.

Leading up to this concert, Rosie led two creative writing workshops, sharing poetry and prompts that focused on the heart and what it needs to heal. One was hosted in Room 203 and the second was in collaboration with MacRostie Art Center, held in the Giinawind Creative Space. Participants were invited to be a part of the opening act for Peters and Everest, along with our ‘Paper in Fire’ writing circle and other community members. As the evening of the show arrived, they came ready to share their stories.
